Togolese President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé arrived in Rwanda on 29th for working visit as the two countries seek to deepen bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
Gnassingbé was received at Kigali International Airport by Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier Nduhungirehe, officials said.
The visit follows Gnassingbé’s previous working trip to Rwanda on Jan. 18–19, 2025, which was aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between Kigali and Lomé. That visit was marked by high-level discussions focusing on trade, agriculture, investment, the green economy and regional security.
During talks with Rwandan President Paul Kagame, both leaders highlighted the long-standing friendship between their countries and reaffirmed their commitment to sustained and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Gnassingbé expressed confidence that the engagements would produce concrete outcomes, saying the partnership continues to expand and is laying the foundation for long-term collaboration that benefits citizens of both nations.
Kagame said Rwanda values its relationship with Togo and is ready to broaden cooperation in areas of shared interest.
“By working together, we can achieve stronger economic growth, improved social welfare and contribute to peace in our region,” Kagame said.
Both presidents pledged to further strengthen diplomatic relations and continue collaborating on shared development priorities and regional stability.
