The Embassy of Rwanda in the United Kingdom has launched a digital assistant named “Nshuti” to help Rwandans and friends of Rwanda access consular information and services more quickly and efficiently.
The tool, which operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, is designed to respond to inquiries related to embassy services, including passport applications, visas, documentation requirements and other consular matters.
Nshuti is available via WhatsApp at +44 7427 941212 and through the embassy’s website at www.rwandainuk.gov.rw.
Rwanda’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Johnston Busingye, described the launch as another step toward innovation aimed at improving service delivery and accessibility.
“I am pleased to see ‘Nshuti’ begin providing services,” Busingye said, thanking embassy staff who contributed to the project’s implementation. He added that the initiative is intended to ensure embassy services are easily accessible, delivered efficiently and available at any time, regardless of a user’s location.
Patriot Nkotanyi Francis, a social media commentator known on X, also welcomed the initiative, describing it as a major step forward in public service delivery through the use of technology.
“This is a significant milestone in service provision, and it benefits everyone,” he said.
The launch aligns with Rwanda’s broader government strategy to promote digital transformation and expand the use of technology in public service delivery.
Observers say the initiative could serve as a model for other institutions seeking to provide faster, more accessible and modern services to citizens.
